Service Description

Wild Ivory Postpartum Coaches are Registered Nurses with Specialized Post-birth Knowledge and Experience. They provide In-Home Consultations for new parents! Included in the 1.5 hour home visit are; Maternal and Newborn Physical Assessments focused on; -postpartum bleeding -infection -pain -healing -coping -postpartum depression -newborn jaundice -feeding -alert/sleep cycles Maternal and newborn vital signs and head-to-toe assessments Newborn weight measurements, pulse oximetry and TCB (jaundice) readings Assessment of emotional well-being and coping of the family Screening for postpartum depression / anxiety, if risk factors are present Teaching and demonstration for mother-care and baby-care Breast-feeding information, assessment and support Referral to Lactation Consultation or Physician Assessment if appropriate Postpartum RNs follow Wild Ivory Algorithms and Protocols for how to respond to abnormal findings
